[Toronto ON] Join us for a swingin' nite of celebration and groove at The Sundar Quartet's CD Release Sun Feb 28 at Jazz Hub, Chalkers Pub!

The CD features Sundar on alto/soprano sax, vocals and flute, showcasing an all-star rhythm section (George Koller, Adrean Farrugia, Dave Restivo, Larnell Lewis, Alan Heatherington), and exhilarating interpretations of the standard and popular song.  With hats off to the likes of Gershwin, Baker, Berlin, Porter, Mercer, Van Heusen, Jobim, not to mention Paul Simon, and Gordon Lightfoot, Sundar offers exquisite twists and turns, seamlessly moving between smooth jazz, spirited swing, jazz rumba, bossa nova, to even a hint of the blues.

  Sundar's mix of confidence and humility, combined with astonishing technique and a voice that is the equal of his instrumental prowess, make him one of the most sought after and engaging live performers in Canadian jazz and on the international stage including Europe, Turkey, Japan, South Africa, United States and the Caribbean.  Indeed, such artists and ensembles who've invited Sundar to perform with them include none other than Wynton Marsalis, the Grammy-nominated Charles Tolliver Big Band, Sun Ra, Joe Lovano, John Abercrombie, Anita O'Day, Nick "Brownman" Ali, Kenny Wheeler, Terry Clarke, Kiran Ahluwalia, Tasa, Billy Hart, Rez Abassi, and many more.
