TEM: Congrats on your upcoming debut.
Dru: Thanks. My solo debut album "THE ONE" is set to be released February 12, 2008 under the label called Effortless Ent. that I own in partnership with Morojele Music Group. With major distribution by Fontana North/Universal.
TEM: Why have you decided to go solo?
Dru:
The group i'm with, In Essense was signed to BMG Records. We won Juno
and Much Music awards, #1 on CHUM radio and so on, but we weren't
getting full support from the label so we (the group) decided to part
ways with the label and then I started recording my solo album in 2005.
TEM: Where would you say your audience is?
Dru: Canada, USA, Germany, Japan. Touring those countries with the group has enabled me to have that wide audience.
TEM: Your single Stay With Me/Always is getting attention.
Dru:
Yes its getting played in Canada, the US and Germany. I co-wrote my
album with award winning producer/writer Rupert Gayle. Chozen
Williams a.ka. Chizzy who is only 19 years of age out of Brampton
Ontario, produced 4 tracks on my album.
