The Savanah Band is one of the bands
that will join the Toronto Exclusive Magazine's Food Drive Event. They love to participate in an event such
as this and they were grateful for the opportunity so that they can help other
people.
Aside from this food drive event, they previously
participated in a local charity event last spring called “The Here
and There Benefit Concert”. This concert helped to raised money and awareness
for those living in poverty here in Canada including Africa and Central
America.
The Band was formed in the late summer
of 2006 in Toronto by founding members J.C. Sandoval (Guitar) and Bassist Cory
Smith. They played as a trio with a former drummer but because of
relocation issues, they had to look for a new member to complete the band.
George Nikolov (drummer) joined the group and after a few months, Zacharias
Wolf (Lead Vocals) also joined. It only took them one session for
everyone to realize that their band now was really complete with a
great line up.
The genre of rock music has been around for at least five to six decades now and
true originality is something that is very hard to achieve in this time. Savanah
trys to take the passion and style that they love from their influences then put
their own creativity into the music and hoping to result into something new and
exciting.
On December 14, they will be playing in the “BEST
INDIE BANDS OF 2007” show at The Opera House here in Toronto. There will be a
cover charge at the door. This will be their last show for 2007.
Savanah will be working on a few recordings with
Steve Pecile (a personal friend and sound engineer at Crunch Group Recording).
These recordings are going to most likely be used for promotional use or even
possibly an EP Album.
